This oven baked recipe is a treat and easy to make for yourself, your family or anyone else that may be ringing in the new year in your company. A wire rack is a must for this recipe as it allows the chicken to be cooked thoroughly and to a safe internal temperature of 165F while on top of a baking sheet. The ingredients should give you the perfect mixture of sweet and hot. The recipe will take a bit of time in the oven but this will allow the chicken to be moist while absorbing all the sauce making it a sticky delight.

Sweet and Spicy Drumsticks Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 105 minutes Servings: 4
1 green onion, minced
1 cup of BBQ sauce
1/4 cup of hot sauce
1 tbsp of honey
1 tsp of dried mustard
1 tbsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of sea salt
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of red chili flakes

1- Preheat oven to 350F
2- Place drumsticks on top of wire rack of a parchment covered baking sheet and season with sea salt and black pepper.
3- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
4- Combine remaining seven ingredients in a bowl, stir to mix well and set aside.
5- Remove chicken from oven at the 45 minute mark and place on plate using tongs, drench with sauce mixture, coating well using a basting brush one drumstick at a time. Make sure to not use all the sauce.
6- Place drumsticks back onto wire rack and tent with aluminum foil for another 30 minutes.
7- Remove chicken from oven and uncover, baste with remaining sauce, return to oven uncovered and cook for additional 30 minutes.
8- Take chicken out of oven and set aside for 5 minutes to cool before serving.
